Troy left his family’s business, Stine Lumber Co., in 1998 to start his career as a financial advisor. With more than 17 years of experience, Troy has developed a specialization in retirement income and tax-efficient distribution planning. Troy started Stine Financial in 2007, rebranded in 2023 to Stine Tax & Wealth Management, because of his passion for working with pre-retirees, retirees, and small-business owners by educating and advising them to ensure a secure retirement. He does this through a holistic approach by helping families with a customized plan that aligns investments, insurance, taxes, and and estate planning that has the potential to take them through their retirement years and generations to come.
As a member of the Financial Educator’s Network, Troy believes that education is a major facet in securing financial independence. Troy has conducted numerous workshops over the past decade, addressing a wide range of topics such as tax reform, estate preservation, and asset protection. Additionally, his workshops have included guidance on organizing essential documents and reducing expenses, solidifying his role as a community leader in educating on tax and retirement issues.
Through Troy’s education endeavors, he has worked with many organizations, private and public corporations, professional associations, civic groups, and universities to educate and promote sound financial planning information.
He was awarded the professional designation of Registered Financial Consultant by the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, a non-profit educational and professional organization established in 1984.
Troy is committed to aligning himself with some of the most prominent financial professionals in the country. These professionals include nationally known Harvard-trained economic forecaster Harry Dent, top distribution planner Paul Grangaard, and nationally renowned CPA, Ed Slott. Troy is also a member of the Elite Advisors Group, an exclusive organization for financial advisors dedicated to being leaders in the IRA industry. This support allows him to keep up with ever-changing economic and tax laws to provide sound advice to the clients and friends that he serves.
When he’s not helping clients, Troy enjoys spending his free time with his four sons and family. He also enjoys hunting and fishing in Lake Charles, LA. Troy also is an active member in his church; Lake Charles’ Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where he serves on its service and missionary board.
